Do you believe in empty nest syndrome ?why or why not?
Empty nest syndrome refers to a feeling of grief and loneliness parents may feel when their children leave home for the first time to live on their own. With their child’s departure, parents are likely to undergo this syndrome because they typically spend huge chunks of time for years taking care of their child’s needs. When there is no longer a need for them to actively participate in their child’s life, they may experience grief and loneliness. I do believe in this syndrome not only because of the scientific literature that supports it but also because I have seen it happen in my own family.
