Answer #1

Wellman defined Racism as R=P+P which means racism is equal to prejudice and power.
definition by Wellman- Racism has moved away from earlier interpersonal race-based prejudice and shifted toward analyses of historical, instiutional, and structural dynamics which leads to perpetuation of social advantages of dominant social identity group, i.e. White Americans.
Power andoppression should be part of racism because today it can be esili seen that many african americans are becoming powerful and coming into upper class and middle class society. Such individuals are less prone to racism than those who are at the bottom of society. So power should come into the definition of Racism.
