Some other purposes of Martin Luther King letter, besides responding to the clergymen in Alabama were to assert to the world that he and his fellow demonstrations had a duty to fight for justice. It was to make the people fighting for justice feel proud of their cause and unite in their nonviolent ways of fighting for justice which included; fact-finding, negotiation, self-purification, and direct action. Further through his letter; he wanted to declare; it to the world that he doesn't regret his decision, nor should he.
