Answer- Equality and democracy are known as the key features of Athens. Pericles' Funeral Oration is a famous speech delivered by Pericles, a great Athenian politician. According to him, Athenian democracy refers to justice. In this democracy, people were given funeral in public who died in war. The dead bodies of the soldiers were kept in a tent for three days and after that a funeral procession was held. In that, "Cypress coffins are borne in cars, one for each tribe, the bones of the decreased being placed in the coffin of their tribe."

Pericles led Athens from 461 to 429 BC. This period is also known as ' Age of Pericles' . He promoted Arts and Literature and helped Athens to be an educational and cultural center of the Ancient Greek. According to Pericles,"Athens is a democracy because the administration favours the many instead of few."
