There are many philosophical concepts present that tells about that real world is an illusion. In the movie Matrix, many concepts of philosophy were used like Jean Baudrillard’s Simulacra and Simulation, Socrates’ visit to the Oracle of Delphi, Plato’s allegory of the cave, the work of Descartes.

In the first movie of Neo escaped from some kind of cave. Then he saw the real world. Everything was an illusion what he saw in the world, where he was living. This concept is much simpler to the shadow on the cave walls and statues are also an imitation of real things.

According to Plato, it is a duty of the person who saw reality, must return to save others. In movie Matrix, Neo returns to the in order to save humanity from false reality and ignorance.
