his goes without saying; the media plays a monumental role in shaping morals, values, and behaviors in our society. In this particular day in age, social media has rendered itself a very powerful socializing agent, especially in our youth. Adolescents are particularly susceptible and sensitive to the messages that the media "sends", thus becomes internalized and imprinted in the teenage psyche.

Look through some popular social media sites (i.e. Instagram, Snapchat, whatever other media outlet that's out there). Choose a celebrity or popular user page to scroll through. What values do their posts espouse? What do they "market" as beautiful, masculine, feminine, and ideal in our society?

Please discuss in two paragraphs how these images shape self-esteem and overall social-emotional development in adolescents. Be sure to identify which social media page you used OR describe the image or attach the image (make sure to include the web course) to your discussion AND explain why you chose it.

you should talk about the celebraity and answer the questions and send a link of the profile of the celebrity and the web source and explain why you chose it.

People do marketing via social media, because it is free, you can reach to masses. Many youth or young people follow them. Hence it is indeed good way of publicity of upcoming movie, film or any activity, any success story etc.

I would be taking images two very popular marathi celebrity style icons https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1623426732

Ameya Wagh -I have taken his photo from facebook. Ameya is considered as popular marathi actor, he is very popular amongst the young girls. He is kind of heart throb. He usually does his marketing by taking some natural things, or clicking photos of something natural. For eg: eating mother made food, his first bike. He is considered as natural, talented and simple guy who does wonderful acting. Hence youth who follow him are sure that self esteem can be reached by being simple, one would not require costly accessories to prove it. And as far social emotional development is considered being simple is considered as more cool which I think is the great point.

Another popular marathi figure is Mithila Palkar -https://www.facebook.com/Mithila-Palkar-FC-1121819981184079/

She is also popular maharashtrian figure. She mostly potrays herself with her frizzy hair, and showcases herself as being feminine or stupid. But she never show cases as being proud Indian lady, telling some historical or sensible things. Her page often contains her feminine photos. But would not contain in any natural one. Hence young girs who are following her would also beleive in keeping frizzy hair, dressing up something too feminine.
