The major differences between fascism and neofascism lie in the fact that fascism developed after the World War I while neofascism as the name suggests developed after World war II. The “neofascists” groups unlike the fascist groups that had their origin in Europe had their origin primarily in Latin America, the Middle East, and South Africa. The neofascists advocated; militant nationalism, authoritarian values, opposed the liberal individualism of the Enlightenment,left-wing ideologies such as the Marxist. They indulged in racist and xenophobic scapegoating.
