Briefly describe the constructs of inferiority complex and striving for superiority within Adler's individual psychology.
As per Alfred Adler, when the child is surrounded by the stronger or powerful individuals he experiences the feelings of inferiority as he is surrounded by such capable people around. As the child grows he becomes obessed with his inferior feelings and strives for power and recognition. If the child fails to meet certain challenges he will develop inferiority complex
Alfred developed two types of inferior complex the primary and the secondary one. The primary complex is the primary inferior feeling rooted in original experiences of the child of weaknessesm helplessness and dependancy. The secondary inferior feelings are based on the primary feelings, it is when the child is into adult phase and it is unable to reach goals due to his earlier experiences.
