Could you forgive someone who treated you unfairly because of your race if they apologized and attempted to learn from their mistake?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Forgiveness is the conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment toward a person or group who has harmed you. Therefore it is possible to forgive someone who treated someone unfairly on racial grounds, and have later apologized and has also attempted to learn from their mistakes.

Forgiveness is acceptance of a situation or experience which was otherwise hurtful. This would make the person gain a more balanced view and thereby remove the negative emotions attached to the situation. Forgiveness would lead to better health habits, and better mental health as well.
