Answer #1

The symbol of Spinning Wheel is very much familiar and close to us because of the following reasons:

  • Spinning wheels are an object commonly associated with fairy tales. Besides this, they add some degree of symbolic meaning to the stories where there is a description of spinning wheels.
  • Spinning wheels are domestic objects. They belong to every household and since ages they have been associated with women
  • Spinning isn’t a term exclusive to yarn. In Greek and Roman Mythology the Spinning wheel is associated with Goddesses Moirai or Parcae.People believed that they were controller of lifespan of every mortal by spinning the threads of their lives and cutting them when it was time for them to die.
