Adding Vectors (3 Ways) Add the following vectors in three ways:

-Arrow drawing . graphical method

-Law of cosine / Law of since method

-Analytically

B) Add together the following two velocity vectors using all 3 methods (use a separate page and diagram for each method)

V1 = 60,000 m/s at 75 degrees above negative x axis
V2 = 105,000 m/s at 32 degrees above the positive x axis

Check to see if the three methods come out approximately equal to each other and use 3 pages for each method.

The three displacement vectors in the drawing have magnitudes of A = 5.05 m, B = 4.90 m, and C = 4.20 m. Find the resultant (magnitude and directional angle) of the three vectors by means of the component method. Express the directional angle as an angle above or below the positive or negative x axis. (Assume α = 25° and β = 61°. Give an answer between 0 and 90°.)

The three displacement vectors in the drawing have magnitudes of A = 4.60 m, B = 4.85 m, and C = 3.70 m. Find the resultant (magnitude and directional angle) of the three vectors by means of the component method. Express the directional angle as an angle above or below the positive or negative x axis. (Assume α = 25° and β = 58°. Give an answer between 0 and 90°.)

1. For a stationary ball of mass m = 0.200 kg hanging from a massless string, draw arrows (click on the “Shapes” tab) showing the forces acting on the ball (lengths can be arbitrary, but get the relative lengths of each force roughly correct). For this case of zero acceleration, use Newton’s 2nd law to find the magnitude of the tension force in the string, in units of Newtons. Since we will be considering motion in the horizontal xy plane,...
