An object's acceleration is 25 m/s^2. Sketch the proper x(t) vs t, v(t) vs t and a(t) vs t graphs. The objects starts from rest and plot form time(t) = 0 to t= 5 seconds

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The acceleration is given to be constant which is a = 25 m/s2. So, acceleration a(t) vs time t graph will be a horizontal line with slope zero with a = 25 m/s2.

a = dv/dt

therefore. v(t) = at = 25t

velocity at t=0 is v=0 m/s and at t=5s is v = 125 m/s

plotting v(t) vs t will give a straight line with y intercept c=0 and slope dv/dt = 25 m/s2.

v = dx/dt

=> x = (1/2)at2 = 12.5t2

the object is chosen to start from the origin x = 0 at t = 0. At t=5s, x = 312.5 m

plotting x(t) vs t will give a parabola with center at x=0.
