which of the following can reduce the resistance of a metal conductor?

a. heat the conductor to a high temp

b.cool the conductor to a low temp

c. connect the conductor in series twith another resistor

d. coat the conductor with aan insulator to increase cross sectional area

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Correct answer is (B) cool the conductor to a low temp

When we increase the temperature of a conductor it's resistance increase . And if we decrease the temperature then resistance of conductor decrease.

When we connect conductor in series then it's effective resistance is sum of all resistance so it increases in series.

By coating a insulator we can increase area of wire but still current carrying cross section is same so it's resistance remain unaffected.
