Answer #1

what are the units you are looking for answer ????

I assume you are looking for miles

Person's weight varies with 1/r2 from center of earth

Given

F = Gm1m2 / r2 = 234 lbs

Gm1m2 / r2 = 234 lbs where r is radius of earth which is around 3958 miles ( I have taken it from internet, please make sure this is correct, In km, earth's radius is 6370 km)

Therefore,

Gm1m2 = 234*3958

Gm1m2 = 926172

Now, the weight at some height is given as 26 pounds

26 = Gm1m2 / (r + x)2

(r + x)2 = 926172 / 26

(r + x)2 = 35622

x = 188.74 + 3958

x = 4146.7 miles
