WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT URANUS ?
1. Uranus is the coldest planet in the solar system. The temperature on Uranus falls below 50 K making it coldest planet in solar system. This is due to the fact that it's mantle is frozen, comprised mainly of ices and rocks unlike hot core of other planets, so it doesn't radiate energy.
2. Uranus appears to be rolling on its sides. Most other planets rotate about their axis with their equatorial region facing sun. But Uranus appears rolling on its sides with axial tilt of around 99°!
3. One season on the poles of Uranus last for 42 long years. There is summer on one pole for 42 years, while there is winter on other. Also since poles face sun for 42 years, sun is on the polar sky for these many years, while there is long drawn darkness on other pole with icy winter for this period.
