A solenoid has an induction magnet of 12 π x 10-7 T. If the length of the solenoid
5 m, and the current flowing 1.5 A. Calculate the number of turns of the solenoid
and what is the induction of the solenoid magnet at the end of the solenoid?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution:

Length of solenoid = 5 m

Current flowing I = 1.5 A

Magnetic induction or magnetic flux density = B

we need to find the number of turns of the solenoid ?.

We know

where N is the number of turns.

is the permeability of free space = 4π x 10-7

therefore

Number of turns N = 10

b) what is the induction of the solenoid magnet at the end of the solenoid?

The magnetic field at end of the solenoid is half of that at its middle
