Lunar eclipse occurs when moon comes in between sun and earth. If moon covers sun fully total lunar eclipse happen and if it covers sun partially .. partial lunar eclipse occurs .

And if size of moon is smaller than sun then a bright ring will appear and annular solar eclipse will happen .

2.Now umbra and penumbra occurs when total solar eclipse happens . The darkest ring during total solar eclipse is know as umbra . And this part is the shadow of moon on earth.

Now lighter part of the shadow outside of umbra is called penumbra . Both occurs at same time when total solar eclipse occurs
