Suppose you have a charged mass suspended from a string with unknown mass, m. However, you do know the charge q1 of the suspended mass and q2 , the charge of a second object that you may introduce to the system. Given that you know the charges of both objects and you have access to regular measurement tools like rulers and protractors, determine an experimental procedure for who you could determine the mass of the object. Be sure to include mathematical justifications for your process. Include any pertinent diagrams both describing the experimental setup as well as FBDs if needed.

Answer #1

We will make a similar setup as shown in the diagram below , In which we will suspend q1 and place the other charge q2 on and insulating stand and manage the distance between q1 and q2 such that they are in same horizontal line. and then measure the angle made by the string of the charge q1 with the celling and the horizontal distance 'd' between q1and q2. Then use the formula derived below to calculate the unknown mass of q1.
