ANtenna is a metal rod or dish that catches radio waves that turn them into electrical signals feeding into something like radio or television or telephone system.

Antenna some times called receivers . A transmitter is a different kind of antenna that do opposite job to receiver. That turns electrical signals into audio waves travel thousands of kilometers into the space.

As the electrons in the electric current wiggle back and forth along the antenna , they creative invisible Elcevtromagnetic radiation in the form of radio waves. These waves can travel with speed of light. And these signals caught by other antenna and covert the electromagnetic waves into required output.
