Describe the relationship between the Sun's magnetic field and sunspot activity. Hi please answer the question correctly.
As sunspots are the surfaces on sun which are cooler than sun's temperature, that is why they appear dark on observing. The sunspots appears due to strong magnetic fields over the surface of sun due to imbalance in on going nuclear reaction within core of sun.
As per observations from earth, the Sunspots activities has 11 year of cycle i.e. it goes from maximum to minimum and vice- versa in 11 years, which leads to change in magnetic field also.
Till now, we do not have any mathematical relation between Sunspots and Sun's magnetic field but from the intensive observation we found that 'the sunspots numbers are directly proportional to magnetic field of the sun'. The reason is said to be disturbances in nuclear fusion reaction which causes high currents over the surface of sun and generates higher magnetic fields and less temperatures, which leads to sunspots.
