  1. An alpha particle will travel the same distance in a material as a proton with the same_______.

    1. Velocity

    2. Mass

    3. Energy

    4. Charge

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer: velocity

Velocity is the rate of change of distance with respect to time. Hence, if both the particles have same velocuty, it will cover the same distance in the same amount of time.

Also, an alpha particle has twice the charge as compared to a proton and its mass is 4 times that of a proton. Hence, the mass and charge will never be the same. Similarly, as energy is also dependant on the mass or the potential, it will also differ.

Hence, answer is OPTION A VELOCITY
