This is opinion base: A premium fishing company that sells fish is thinking of doing a line extension strategy to create a brand but under a high-end quality. However, they need to prevent cannibalization. The premium fish company has freezing trawler so any premium fish they captured get immediately frozen in order to keep the quality of the fish good. Their sellers are restaurants and grocery shops. The company is creating another brand because its forecast shows that it will have excess inventory for fish in the future unless they do something. Give an example of a line extension strategy to create a brand but under a high-end quality. Guaranteed to get thumbs up if the example answer is good.

Answer #1

They could start a Fish flour brand. It is similarly prepared as fish meal but here the fishes used are of high nutritive value and are fit for human consumption. Fish flour is rich in protein and easily digestible. It is to be used along with wheat or maize flour. Addition of more than 10% fish flour with other edible flour may not be acceptable to all due to its disagreeable taste, but a lesser amount does not bring any change to the taste.

Restaurants would buy it as an alternate to regular flour. It would help the restaurants also as now they would have an alternate fish flour dishes opposed to the regular flour dishes.

Good for the Gander If $1000 sounds like a lot to pay for a jacket, think about another number: $1.82 billion. That was the market value of Canada Goose, producer of those pricey jackets, when its IPO hit the market in March of 2017. This was the highest valuation of any luxury retailer in the world. Not bad for a company that started in a small warehouse in Toronto in 1957. Entrepreneur and immigrant Sam Tick opened that warehouse more...
