In semiconductors, how would I know if CdTe is more ionic than InSb?
By looking at low-energy-electron-diffraction intensities we can see CdTe is more ionic than InSb because In the second layer the Cd species is moved upward by 0.09 Å and the Te downward by this amount, to within an uncertainty of ±0.05 Å. This range of structures is essentially identical to the structures found earlier for InSb, a surprising result for CdTe.That says that CdTe is considerably more ionic than InSb.
