Build a circuit that contains a 10V battery and some number of 2 ohm resistors, such that the current flowing through the battery is 3.75 amperes. Show the circuit that you drew.

Answer #1

Given that Potential difference across battery = 10 V

Current through circuit = 3.75 Amp

Using Ohm's law:

V = I*Req

Req = V/I = 10/3.75 = 2.67 ohm

Remember:
For series combination
Req = R1 + R2 + R3 +...............
for parallel combination
1/Req = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + ............
for 2 resistors in parallel it will be
Req = R1*R2/(R1+R2)
Using this Information:

Now we have Req = 2.67

Req = 2 + 0.67

So two resistor are in series and one of them have 2 ohm and other have 0.67 (2/3) ohm resistance

Now if we want resistance less than 2, then we need to add resistors in parallel, So add three resistors in parallel.

So Circuit diagram will be:
