Answer #1

What is the equivalent resistance of the circuit?

In an electrical circuit, the aggregate resistance of the resistors connected either in parallel or series is called equivalent resistance of the circuit.

For Example:

In series circuit:

Let each resistance is of value 3 Ohms, then

Equivalent resistance = 3 + 3 + 3 = 9 Ohms

In Parallel circuit:

The Left hand side parallel circuit is equivalent to Right hand side Equivalent resistance.

Reason: Equivalent resistance = (4*4) / (4+4) = 2 Ohms
