It has been speculated that gravity does not truly exist as a force in itself, but is instead a manifestation of the electrostatic force, which is the force responsible for the repulsion of like-charges and the attraction of opposite charges. Do you believe this is a credible theory? Why or why not? What experiment could you devise to test this theory?
Yes , this is credible. Electric force also called as coulomb force is strongest force. Without electric force ( repulsion, especially), the gravitational force will dominate everything and world may collapse. So, electric force helps balance things in nature.
To see their existence, just rub a comb onto the hair and try to pick up pieces of paper. We will notice that paper will be attracted which means this force is stronger than force of gravity pulling things down but when the charges are balanced, the paper will fall back down on earth, this means gravity does not truly exist as a force in itself, but is instead a manifestation of the electrostatic force.
