Jae has two infinitely long wires with same currents running through in parallel and they are placed on a floor. Describe what happens to the position of the wires. So, for instance, when the two wires were 10 cm away from each other, what happens to the distance after 1 minute? Then, with that in mind, briefly describe what happens to a spring when current runs through using Ampere’s law. Please explain thoroughly and write neatly!

Answer #1

When current in wires are in same direction the force each wire exerts on other one is attractive. Due to this attractive force the wires come closer to each other. Hence, the distance between the wire decreases over time.

When the current runs through the spring, In each successive turn the current points in the direction parallel to the current in previous turn. Due to this attractive force is generated in each turn of the spring and the spring gets compressed.
