In a double-slit experiment, if the slit separation is increased, how will the interference pattern on the screen change? If instead, you increase the distance between the slit and the screen, how will the interference pattern change? (i.e. the maxima and minima stay in the same position, get further apart, get closer together, etc.)

In a double-slit experiment, light with a wavelength λ passes through a double-slit and forms an interference pattern on the screen at a distance L from the slits. What statement is true for the resulting interference pattern if the frequency of the light increases? The distance between maxima increases. Not enough information given. The distance between maxima stays the same. The distance between maxima decreases.

What will happen to the fringes (closer together, farther apart, remain the same, or no more fringes) if The blue light is replaced by red light? The blue light is replaced by incoherent light? 1. A single slit produces a diffraction pattern on a distant screen. Show that the separation distance between the two minima on either side of the central maximum is twice as large as the separation distance between all the other neighbouring minima. Compare your result to the corresponding case for a double-slit pattern with very narrow slits. (Hint: use the formula for intensity of single slit diffraction) 2.Two ordinary lightbulbs S1 and S2 are 1m apart, each emitting light waves...
