What happens if the angle of incidence (from inside the material) is greater than the critical angle of refraction found in part (a) above? Why? This is called total internal reflection.

  1. Why is it only possible to have total internal reflection when light travels from a medium of higher index of refraction to one of lower index of refraction?

THE VALUES ARE MISSING IN THE QUESTION, PLEASE SOLVE? A beam of light is incident from air ( on the surface of a liquid. If angle of incidence is o and angle of refraction is o, find the index of refraction of liquid and the critical angle for the liquid surrounded by air. [Don’t forget, for the total internal reflection, light should go from the medium with larger index of refraction into the medium with smaller index of refraction.]
