How does current flow in a circuit with a capacitor if the two plates in a capacitor are not connected by a conductor?
The capacitor is made of two plates which are separated by small distance and filled with a medium.
When a capacitor is connected to the power source or battery, one plates is positive and other is negative. So a potential difference is created between the plates. Thus the medium, generally air, gets ionised due to the potential difference. Ions gets attracted by opposite charged plates and traval towards it.
Thus ions move between the plates and circuit gets completed. And current passes in the circuit through capacitor.
