Explain what the electric force is and what it depends on.

Answer #1

An electric force is either an attractive or repulsive force between two charged objects. This force is attractive when two objects have opposite charges and repulsive when two objects have like charges.

Colomb's law is the law governing the electric force between charged particles. It states that the strength of the electric force between any two charged objects is directly proportional to the magnitude of charge that each object contains and on the square of the distance between the two charges. Mathematically,

where,

Hence the electric force depends on the magnitude of charge that each object contains and the distance between the two charges
