An aluminum piano wire snapped in my prized grand piano. I found another one, but it was too short by 0.156 mm. The wire is 89.3 cm long and 2.6 mm in diameter. I decided to stretch it to fit by attaching a steel ball (density = 7860 kg/m3) with a radius of 3.0 cm and whirling it about in a vertical circle. What tangential velocity (in m/s) is needed at the top of the circle to stretch the wire to the needed length? (Volume of a sphere is 4/3 πr^3 ) (Yaluminum =70 × 10^9 N / m^2 )
Please give positive response it helps me alot...thank you
