If you are asked to consider an alternate material of a tennis racquet frame, what would it be and why (more than 5 reasons)?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The material which I would consider as an alternate material will be Carbon Fibers. The reasons are:

(1) The material will allow us to make a very lightweight tennis racquet.

(2) The material is strong, and it will able to take up the forces involved while playing tennis.

(3) Strong material, also makes the racquet more durable, as it will be more resistant to breakages.

(4) Easier to manufacture as compared to wood counterparts.

(5) The carbon composite material can be recycled and used again, this helps in reducing the cost of the product, as well as the carbon footprint.
