Answer #1
  FRESNEL DIFFRACTION   FRAUNHOFER DIFFRACTION
The source and the screen are at finite distance from the diffracting aperture. The source and the screen are at infinite distance from the diffracting aperture.
The wavefronts are divergent either spherical and cylindrical. The wavefronts are plane which is released by using convex lens.
For obtaining fresnel diffraction , zone plates are used. For this single double ae plane diffraction grating are used.
No mirror or lenses are used for observation. Diffracted light is collected by lens as in telescope.

The patterns produced by both of them are like below :

A diffraction pattern incident on a screen that is 5.1 m away is produced using light that passes through a single-slit of width 590 um. The central maximum is 1.4 cm wide. If the single-slit is replaced with a double-slit with a slit separation of 0.40 mm and the same light is used, what would be the distance from the central maximum to a fifth dark fringe?
