water flows out of a 2.0 cm radius faucet at a velocity of 36 cm cm/a. How many seconds does it take for 3.0 L of water to exit the faucet?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Write the equation for flow rate.

Q = AV

= Pi*r^2*V

= Pi*2^2*36

= 452.4 cm3/s

Now calculate the time required to exit 3.0 L of water.

Time = Total volume of water/ rate of flow

= (3*1000 cm3)/(452.4 cm3/s) {1 L =1000 cm^3}

= 6.63 s

Thus,the time required to exit 3.0 L of water is  6.63 s.
