Which of the following statements is not true about a closed cycle according to the laws of thermodynamics? Group of answer choices

Temperature, internal energy and pressure can be used to describe various the states of the system.

In a cycle, the initial and final states are the same.

No heat enters or is expelled from the system during an adiabatic leg of a cycle.

There are special processes in which heat is absorbed from a reservoir and converted competely into work.

A cycle can be run in either direction.

Answer #1

"There are special processes in which heat is absorbed from a reservoir and converted competely into work"

the above stated statement is not true according to the laws of thermodynamics because there is no such provisions of 100% efficiency in thermodynamics, no ever system has been built or modified whose efficiency is perfect 100% .

the heat absorbed from reservoir is used up as internal energy , raise in temperature and work done (including frictional losses). so it isnt possible that the heat absorbed from a reservoir is completely converted into work.

Which of the following statements is not true according to the laws of thermodynamics? Group of answer choices Work depends upon the themodynamic process. An equilibrium state of the system can be characterized by its internal energy. For an isolated system, the internal energy is either constant or increases. The change in internal energy for a system interacting with the environment is equal to the heat minus the work. Pressure and volume describe the state of the system.

2 Equipartition The laws of statistical mechanics lead to a surprising, simple, and useful result — the Equipartition Theorem. In thermal equilibrium, the average energy of every degree of freedom is the same: hEi = 1 /2 kBT. A degree of freedom is a way in which the system can move or store energy. (In this expression and what follows, h· · ·i means the average of the quantity in brackets.) One consequence of this is the physicists’ form of...
