Two blocks of 5 Kg (m1) and 7 Kg (m2) are connected by a heavy uniform rope with a massless rope(M). The 7 kg block is hanging below the 5 kg block. An upward force of 192 N is acting on the 5 kg block.

What is the acceleration of the 5 kg block, if any?

What is the tension at the bottom of the rope? That obviously means what is the magnitude, since the direction should be known by us by virtue of the definition of tension force.

What is the tension at the midpoint of the rope? That could mean two things, which will be explained further.

Make appropriate free body diagram and label them! Show x/y axes. Write the 2nd law in the relevant direction (show cosine or sine of standard angles for this question). Show the calculations that lead to the answer.

Comment briefly on why you pick a certain object-of-interest. Also, comment briefly on the value of Ttop and Tbottom. Briefly means you should be able to express your thoughts in one line. Make sure to use precise technical terminology (the correct definitions of forces, "force by what on what", etc.).

Two blocks of masses m1 = 1.5 kg and m2 = 3.0 kg are connected with a string that passes over a very light pulley (Figure 1). Friction in the pulley can be ignored. Two blocks of mass m1 = 9.20 kg and m2 are connected by a light string.
