There is a ray of light that is going through glass of thickness L = 0.5m and infex of refraction of 1.5. Find the speed of light through the glass and the angle.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Here we have given that,

thickness of glass L = 0.5m

infex of refraction = 1.5

speed of light through the glass will be given as,

Speed V = speed of light in air /refractive index

V = 3×10^8/1.5 = 1.5 × 10^8 m/s

Now the and the angle we have to simply use the snells law as

n1sin = n2

as here n1 = 1

n2 = 1.5

So that

Here theta1 is the angel of incidence

Ans theta2 is the first refraction angle in the glass medium.
