Two objects attract each other gravitationally with a force of 2.6×10−10 NN when they are 0.60 mm apart. Their total mass is 4.2 kg. Find their individual masses.
We have given the Gravitational force between two bodies
Please consider the mass of one body m1 and accordingly the another body will have mass (4.2 - m1).
Hence the mass m1 could be 3.84Kg and m2 should be (4.2-3.84)= 0.36Kg.
Or possibly the mass of m1 could be 0.36Kg and then m2 should be around 3.84Kg.
Hence we can conclude that their individual mass possibly could be 3.84Kg and 0.36Kg and if they are 0.6m apart then the Gravitational force acting between them should equal to the force 2.6* 10^{-10} N.
