( Optics Software) Design a phantom , Using Mie Scattering Calculator
Design a phantom with the characteristics below:
Spherical TiO2 particles with the average diameter of 1 micron.
Refractive index of TiO2 is 2.4 (Imaginary Index of Refraction is
zero). The particles will be mixed with epoxy and resin with the
refractive index of 1.5.
Reduced scattering coefficient(@700 nm): 40 cm-1
Anisotropy factor (@700 nm): 0.9
In my understanding it is not possible to make desired phantom with anisotropy factor = 0.9
Given details :
Diameter = 1 micron.
RI particle = 2.4
RI medium = 1.5
Wavelength = 0.7 micron (700nm)
By inputing these values into Mie calculator we get,
Anisotropy parameter g = 0.479
By varying concentration, reduced scattering coefficient value can be changed.
But the anisotropy parameter value cannot be changed.
Hence with this it seems impossible to create the desired phantom.
If distribution of particles is provided, better estimate can be found.
