whats is the relationship with Boyle's law with the Bodpod?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

According to Boyle's law, the pressure and volume are inversely proportional to each other at a constant temperature for a given mass of ideal gas.

The BodPod measures body's composition ( lean, fat) by taking inputs such as volume and weight of the person. The volume is determined by measuring pressure changes inside the pod. All this takes place at room temperature (which more or less remains constant for that testing as it just takes 3 mins to record observations.)

Since the temperature is constant and we know the relationship between volume and pressure, we are able to determine volume which is used as an input in BodPod!
