In regards to electric fields, more specifically F=qE, I dont understand what E there is. I...

In regards to electric fields, more specifically F=qE, I dont understand what E there is. I understand that F is the electric (electrostatic ) force, and q is the charge of the particle, so what exactly is E? is this some kind of a constant? Does it relate to Coulomb constant?
