In 1930 Wolfgang Pauli postulated neutrino to explain the concept of energy and momentum conservation in Beta decay. In Beta decay the system conserve energy and momentum as no external force is needed in this process. but experimentally the system was not following these concepts so a particle named neutrino was postulated to conserve the energy and momentum. which was later proved experimentally.
