Consider sending an electron and a proton through a potential difference of 100 V. Both particles start at rest and gain kinetic energy as they loose potential energy. To do this, the proton goes from the positive plate to negative plate and the electron goes from the negative plate to the positive plate.

Which particle will emerge with the smaller de Broglie wavelength?
