A thick plane-convex lens with n = 1.5, has a radius of curvature R
= 24cm and a thickness on its axis of 2 cm.
Calculate the focal length, the image position and lateral
amplification when:
a) The object is 50 cm from the vertex of the related curved
surface
b) When the object is 50 cm from the vertex of the flat face
The question is from optics and the topic is refraction from curved surfacs....
By using lens makers formula for refraction we can solve the problem for both the cases.
