Answer #1

Given:

for vector 1:

magnitude A = 2.2cm

direction is 30° above X axis

for vector 2:

magnitude B = 1.4cm

direction is 60° below X axis

So, angle between them is:

© = 30° +60°

© = 90°

So, magnitude of resultant of the above two vectors will be:

R = √{A2+B2+2ABcos©}

Now cos© = cos90° = 0

R= √{A2+B2}

R = √(2.22 + 1.42)

R = √6.8

R = 2.60768 cm

This is the magnitude of resultant of the two given vectors.
