In the upcoming experiment, you will be causing a block with one material on the bottom to slide across a plank covered with another material. Please come up with at least two different experimental geometries that you could cause the block to slide across the plank and make measurements with a motion sensor, force sensor, and/or other measuring tools we have used that will allow you to calculate a coefficient of friction.

(1.) Sample Lab-Based Question... In the physics laboratory you are given a metal block that is approximately the size of a brick. You are also given 2.0m long wood plank with a pulley* attached to the end of it. Your objective is to experimentally determine the coefficient of kinetic friction ( μ k ), between the metal block and wood plank. *Note: you do not necessarilly need to use the pulley. (a.) From the list below, select the additional equipment...

A 5kg block sits on a wedge (1.5m high and 3m long at the bottom). Another block hangs vertically from a pulley as shown in the diagram. The coefficient of static friction between block m1 and surface of wedge is.4 while the coefficient of kinetic friction is .25. Assume that the pulley is massless and frictionless. Draw a free body diagram for each block. Carefully label each force. Calculate the magnitude of frictional force and find the mass of block...

In one last experiment, you decide to put together everything we’ve learned in PS337 by looking into the amygdala and measuring the activity of cells across numerous behavioral tasks that an animal performs. This animal is fear conditioned, and then undergoes memory extinction. Afterwards, it also gets food rewards and you utilize GCaMP to visualize the activity of these cells across all of these behaviors. Two subsets of cells exists that catch your interest: the first set is active during...

As you saw from the lab PowerPoint slides last week, you will be doing a research study looking at ‘Aggression Priming” for your first paper. For this week’s discussion, I want you to discuss with your group what you think this study is about. What is the hypothesis? What theory does it come from? What do you predict will happen (do you expect something different than the hypothesis in the researcher instructions? If so, what and why?)? Do you think...

Please read the article and answear about questions. Determining the Value of the Business After you have completed a thorough and exacting investigation, you need to analyze all the infor- mation you have gathered. This is the time to consult with your business, financial, and legal advis- ers to arrive at an estimate of the value of the business. Outside advisers are impartial and are more likely to see the bad things about the business than are you. You should...
