Describe the principal advatages and disadvantages of film photography as a remote sensing technique.
Photography as technique for remote sensing offers the advantage of a greater spatial resolution along with a lower cost than that of a non-photographic system. Photography based technique is highly useful for a single event qualitative descriptions of the field conditions. A qualitative analysis of the photographic imagery is low cost since it does not require extensive image calibration, and the equipment is relatively inexpensive.
Themajor disadvantage of photography as a remote sensing technique is that it can't store the data in a digital form. This makes the calibration a very difficult job in this case.
