British system is not accepted as fundamental system as its consistency is doubtful as it was based on human experience and human based scales. To better understand this we will see few examples.
Yard= as per old defination yard is the length from the King's nose to his outstretched hand. Now if your king changes, the length of yard is definetly going to be changed. So its not coherent.
Inch= It was originally the width of a man's thumb. Now how standard is that?
now you can understand that these all defination will never result in a precise measurement and always give you a faulty measurement.
