1. The thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity of metals are intrinsically linked because the metals have a lot of free electrons and they are the major conductors of heat in the metal. Since electrons are also charged, the sea of electrons also contributes towards the electrical conductivity. The medium through which the thermal and electrical conductivity takes place is the same (the electrons), therefore they both are intrinsically linked to each other.
